Guest Speaker. Molly Boyne

Our guest speaker, Molly Boyne hails from Enniscorthy and began her rugby career when she joined D.U.F.C. in 2015. At the Freshers’ Fair, she was greeted by the friendly faces of D.U.F.C. Women and decided to give rugby a try.

An exciting first season was marked by a fractured ankle and selection as Vice-Captain for the following season. Molly then captained the team in 2017/18, when the D.U.F.C. Women’s team, importantly in the program development plan. gained promotion to Division 3 of the Leinster League.

Upon graduating from Trinity College as a Physiotherapist, Molly joined Railway Union RFC. She has won two Leinster Division 1 titles and two AIL Cups with them since joining the Sandymount club. She is the Captain of their Women’s 1st XV this season.

Molly received her first cap for Leinster in January 2023. She has now 7 caps and a Championship Winners medal with the Province. Molly was selected for the Combined Provinces team that competed in the Celtic Challenge tournament in 2023. The competition was expanded this year to include two Irish teams: the Wolfhounds (Leinster and Ulster) and the Clovers (Connacht and Munster). Molly is the captain of the Wolfhounds.

A member of the 2023 Six Nations squad, Molly is forever grateful to D.U.F.C. for starting her on an exciting journey
