AUGUST 2021 UPDATE

Little change to last season protocols except:

  • Players who are fully vaccinated and symptom free* who come in contact with a confirmed case of Covid-19 do not have to restrict movements or get a test
  • The Pre-Rugby Personal Assessment Declaration has been revised, effective from week commencing August 16th 2021.
    • The latest version has been revised to *include symptoms of runny nose, nasal congestion and sinus type symptoms in line with more common presentations of the delta variant of COVID-19.

Club management encourage all members, unless there is a compelling reason,  to complete vaccination without delay. Don’t disrupt training or be the reason you, your team mate or your whole team can’t play a game of rugby this season.

Given the continuing rise of Covid-19 incidence with a peak now being flagged as a month or more away the IRFU believes every precautionary measure that can be taken must be taken to keep the rugby community safe and the season program, so curtailed for the last 2 seasons, protected.

Club members who have developed new symptoms (including the above additional symptoms) including cold or flu symptoms are advised not to attend their rugby club and contact their GP.

Covid-19 safety will be a part of rugby for some time. For us to be able continue to play games freely there must be a culture of Covid-19 safety in clubs that drives good habits, safe behaviours and gets games played. Players, please especially see para 3.5 in the link below that remains important.

Until protocols allow, dressing rooms remain closed.

All players and members should be familiar with the Club Safety Plan:
